Our History
JW Stratton Ltd have been building outstanding developments of houses and apartments in Sussex since 1940 and in the process have built an unrivalled reputation for quality and attention to detail.
The Stratton name is a byword for excellence in house building – we are proud of our Sussex heritage and commission local architects to create individual character homes reflecting local styles and designs rather than relying on standard house types.
We have been recognised for the calibre of our designs and quality of our construction, winning 3 ‘Distinction in Building’ awards from Worthing Borough Council, along with special commendation from LABC and Arun Conservation Committee, whilst two of our Site Managers have received NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ awards.
An early member of NHBC, JW Stratton have also been long standing members of the Federation of Master Builders and have built up an enviable reputation for good value, good quality and well constructed properties using traditional construction methods.

Design and
Craftsmanship
Every development is individually designed by local architects and constructed by craftsmen – some of our associations go back more than 50 years!
Whilst we continue to build using traditional methods, we are always keen to embrace new technology and adopt new designs to give our purchasers every modern convenience with the benefit ion old fashioned quality.
We employ local craftsmen and use materials from Sussex wherever possible – some of our recent projects can be viewed on our Previous Developments page.
